From November 26 to November 28, an international forum on the creative industry was held in Almaty, initiated by non-governmen organizations of Central Asia. The ideological inspirer of the forum was Zhanna Mambetova, a head of the NGO “Cultural Dialogue” (Kazakhstan). The forum has identified a difficult goal to develop a cultural policy strategy in Central Asia.

About 80 organizations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan gathered to discuss trends, challenges and internal problems of culture in their countries, as well as common points and contradictions within the Central Asian countries. Common traditional values, kinship of languages, music and media culture are a great resource for the cultural breakthrough of the Central Asian countries.
