Abstract: The article describes the activity of one of the famous figures of Urkun in 1916 in At-Bashy valley, Kasymaly Mambetov. Kasimaly Mambet uulu was born in the autumn of 1862 in the area of Ak-Bulun near the village of Kulanak Naryn region. It is said that Mambet foresaw that he would have a son, as he had a dream, about how the golden eagle sat on his arm. He sent him flying and it soared high and sat on a peak. At some point, perhaps because of those who were there, he saw that the golden eagle broke a wing, fell and lay half dead on the ground. Mambet interpreted the dream as follows: the beginning will be good and the end bad. As it was in the dream, Kasymaly bolush died at the age of 54 years.

1916 was a special year that left an indelible mark on the history of the people. The people could not stand the yoke of the Russian Empire, rising in the struggle for their freedom. The liberation movement in Naryn was headed by Kasymaaly bolush.

The unjust actions of the tsarist government on land issues, which began to cause discontent among the people, were often discussed by Kasymaaly bolush and the sons of Shabdan, Mokush and Isamudun. Khanat was arrested, executed, and his people fell under attack. After receiving the sad news from Mokush Shabdanov, Kasymaaly Bolush realized that the uprising was lost. In order to save his people from extermination, he lead people of the Shaten and Cherik volosts in amount of 900 yurts to China. He returned at the invitation of the tsarist administration and together with his son Orunaaly Kasymaaly uulu, and his people Chotkar Barman uulu, Momunaali and Bopunaaly, was hanged on 16 October 1916.
