Presentation of the digital platform and rare traditional practices

Within the framework of the session, Aigine CRC organised an event to present the national digital platform (registry) of Kyrgyzstan’s intangible cultural heritage.

During the event, Mirkhamid Toktogulov and Shaakan Toktogulova reconstructed and publicly demonstrated two rarely practiced elements: jar korushuu (the first meeting of future spouses) and bash bailoo (the traditional ceremony of creating a family).

Cholponai Usubalieva-Gryschuk presented the work carried out under the project “A Digital Journey into the World of Intangible Cultural Heritage,” including three years of work on creating the national digital registry of ICH elements. The registry was developed in close cooperation with communities, and the two demonstrated practices are included in it.

The Aigine team sincerely thanks all participants and supporters of the event and hopes that these practices will continue to be carefully transmitted, resonate within communities, and serve as a living link between generations.
