From August 6th to 11th, the Aigine CRC team conducted a field survey of the Sarmishsay complex, located near the city of Navoi in Uzbekistan. The complex is renowned for its fascinating petroglyph scenes. Ramazan Yegamov, the director of the Sarmishsay Park, discussed the significance and some rare scenes depicted on the complex’s petroglyphs for the first time at an event held at Issyk-Kul in July of this year. The Aigine CRC team carried out a detailed study of the complex and documented interpretations of some of the scenes.
