Three individual consultations and a group workshop on “Traditional Knowledge and Hate Speech” were held. Fourteen supporters of Tengrians and other groups in conflict with religious radicals were invited to participate. The concept for the consultations and workshops was developed by Sadyr uulu Zhumagazy from the partner organization Arysh Kench. The concept included the definition of hate speech, its causes, manifestations, as well as suggested ways to get out of the state of hostility through acceptance of the “other”. The participants actively discussed aspects of traditional knowledge on the language of communication and shared sad experiences from their lives when they themselves were forced to use hate speech.
