The Forum of Accredited NGOs to the 2003 UNESCO Convention was held in parallel with the 18th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee in Kasane, Botswana.
The Aiguine IRC is represented on the Executive Committee of the Forum from the Asia-Pacific region for the period from 2023 to the end of 2024.
The following activities are taking place in the organization of the Forum Executive Committee:
– A meeting of the ICH and Climate Change Working Group was held in the afternoon of December 5. The members of the group shared the work done to collect data on the impact of climate change on ICH in many regions of the world and the urgent need to find ways to conserve ICH;
– in the evening of the same day, two books on practical interpretation of the 2003 UNESCO Convention were launched;
– in the afternoon of December 6, the annual journal of the NGO Forum on ICH, #HeritageAlive. The 2023 issue is dedicated to the tradition of “storytelling” – storytelling and contains 12 traditions from different parts of the world;
The Aigine CRC team took part in the 18th Annual Intergovernmental Committee of the 2003 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage from November 2-9.
Gulnara Aitpayeva, Director of the Aigine CRC, a member of the Evaluation Committee, presented nomination files from various countries awaiting inscription of their elements on UNESCO’s official lists.
