🏔️ Aigine CRC team is actively preparing for a regional seminar within the framework of the project “Preserving Traditional Art through the Creation of a Unified Interactive Platform of Central Asian Petroglyphs.” The event will bring together researchers, archaeologists, and ethnographers from across the region to exchange knowledge and discuss petroglyphs not only as archaeological monuments but also as a living cultural heritage connected to the worldview and traditions of contemporary peoples. During the seminar, participants will explore methods of documentation and interpretation of rock carvings, as well as ways to engage local communities in the preservation of this heritage.
🪢 On October 28, 2025, Aiza Abdirakhmanova, Project Coordinator of Aigine CRC, took part in a roundtable dedicated to developing the economic potential of Kyrgyz artisans. In her presentation, Aiza spoke about the project implemented by Aigine at the request of the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic — “Creation of the National Database on Kyrgyz Handicrafts.” She elaborated on the methodology used for collecting data on artisans and presented key results of the work carried out across all regions of the country. The event was organized within the framework of the UNDP project “Aid for Trade” and brought together representatives of government institutions, organizations, and community initiatives working in the field of creative economy development and support for traditional crafts in Kyrgyzstan.
🌸 The team of the “Blessings of Seven Mothers” project and a group of young women artists led by Aliya Alisherova are at the final stage of creating an animated film dedicated to women’s blessings. The artistic core of the film is formed by the unique ornaments created by artisan Gulmira Kutueva, within which are encoded sacred words of blessings collected from women across the country. Through the creative work of Kyial Tazhiyeva, these blessings have taken on a poetic form, celebrating women’s unity, spiritual strength, and hope. A distinct part of the project focuses on recording and preserving koshoks — laments dedicated to seven women and girls who lost their lives due to gender-based violence. As an act of solidarity against violence, the project team publishes one koshok every week to sustain public dialogue on resisting gender-based violence. At the same time, the group is preparing for the final presentation of the project — the premiere of the animated film and the documentation of the koshoks. The event is scheduled for November.
