👩🏻‍💻 Work Meetings: From October 14 to 17, the Aigine team held work meetings in Talas Region with the custodians of koshok, the art of women’s lamentation. We met with 95-year-old Saadabubu Apa, 93-year-old Kalemkash Apa, 81-year-old Farida Apa, and 80-year-old Arzan Apa. These wise women not only shared their experience in performing koshok, but also recounted their life journeys, deeply intertwined with traditions and profound respect for cultural heritage.

👩🏻‍💻 Field Trips: This week, the Aigine CRC team continues to enrich the petroglyph database by visiting several complexes in the Talas Region. We have already explored the complexes on the mountains of Kara Kush and Süloosun, located above the village of Bakayyr in the Kara-Buura district, as well as Tuyuk Tör on the pastures of Karakol village. Despite challenging weather conditions, we carefully examined the ancient drawings. The pristine beauty of the Karakol Gorge captivated us. We are grateful to Azamat Asein uulu, head of “Talas Destinations,” for his help in organizing the trip.

🦌 A Quick Look at the Sacred Site of Ak Tailak: 17 years ago, our center completed research on sacred sites in the Talas Region. As a result, several sites and their guardians received support. Among these was the mazar of Ak Tailak, located above the village of Bakayyr. The guardian of the site was the late Samankul Asyrankulov. This time, we wanted to check on the current state of the mazar. It is heartening to see that, after 17 years, the site remains well-maintained and frequently visited!

🌿 Visiting the School Museum: We visited the “Muraskana” school museum in the village of Bakayyr. The museum collects artifacts or their remnants related to the historical settlements that once existed in this area. Although the museum is not yet fully completed, the school staff is determined to create a dedicated historical section.
