Working meeting: On September 3rd, the first meeting with a group of artisans collaborating with Aigine took place at the Aigine CRC office. The meeting focused on the creation of an informational resource dedicated to handicrafts. The project is initiated by the International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (ICHCAP) with the support of UNESCO. During the meeting, key ideas and the proposed structure of the resource were discussed, emphasizing a comprehensive coverage of the traditions and crafts of Kyrgyzstan. The next meeting plans to invite a broader circle of artisans and relevant organizations to discuss and assess the main concept of the resource, developed based on the outcome of the recent discussions.

New research: The Aigine CRC team held a working meeting with representatives of the International Alysh Federation as part of the preparation for research material intended for a scientific publication. The research focuses on studying traditional Central Asian martial arts, including such Kyrgyz sports as Kok Boru, Alysh, and Oodarysh. The federation’s president, Adilet Bayaman uulu, and vice-president, Belek Usenbekov, shared information about the current activities of the federation, its achievements at both national and international levels, as well as details on key sports events, competition rules, and the history of the organization’s development. The publication of this research is supported and initiated by the International Centre of Martial Arts for Youth Development and Engagement (ICM) under the auspices of UNESCO, based in South Korea. This center is a key global institution promoting martial arts as a tool for cultural exchange and the harmonious development of youth worldwide.

Work on the ICH database: As part of the project “A Digital Journey into the World of Kyrgyzstan’s Intangible Cultural Heritage,” over 2,300 elements have been inventoried by communities from nine ICH domains. Currently, the gathered information for these domains is in the process of structured and verified integration into the digital platform.
