On September 29, 2022, the fifth scheduled meeting of the working group on a geographically more balanced representation of accredited NGOs to the 2003 UNESCO Convention was held.
The meeting was devoted to discussing the results of the implementation of the first part of the plan of the strategy to cover the African region with weak NGO representation in the Forum.
Participants discussed ideas and steps for preparing materials aimed at providing information and technical support to NGOs with potential for, and interest in, accreditation.
Participants also discussed ongoing organizational issues, in particular the election of a new chair and secretary of the working group, which will take place during the last planning meeting of the year.
The last scheduled meeting of the working group for 2022 is scheduled to take place during the 17th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage, which will be held in Rabat, Morocco, from November 28 to December 3, 2022.
