Professor Ruth Mace and her assistants Ishan Xie and Naerhulan Halimubieke from the Department of Anthropology, College of the University of London continue pilot field trips to identify villages where the main research of their study will take place.

Professor Ruth Mace and her team welcome the study “Demography and Ecology of Gender-Biased Cultural Practices – Behavioral Ecology of Forced Marriages in Kyrgyzstan” to Kyrgyzstan.

Last week, the researchers visited a number of villages in the Issyk-Kul region, as well as Karakol city. Today the team arrived in Osh. On the field trip to Osh, the team from London is accompanied by Meerim Aitikeeva from Aigine CRC.
