Climate Change and Apricot and Rice Farming Experiences in Batken: Aigine CRC is launching a study on the impact of climate change on apricot and rice farming experiences in Batken. The aim of the small-scale study is to identify and analyze the views of apricot and rice farmers on climate change. The study is being conducted by Matraimov Abdyrazak, who has been working with Aigine CRC for many years. He has contributed to the study of sacred sites in Batken province. The results of the study will be analyzed with farmers and then considered in the context of a broader climate change model.
Work on the national list of ICH: Within the framework of the project “Digital Journey into the World of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Kyrgyzstan” one of the working groups of the project finalized the work on the formation and editing of the national list of ICH elements of one of the domains – traditional games. Expert Temirbek Toktogaziev is leading the work on the formation and editing of the list of this element. Next step: analysis of this list by the Monitoring team of the project.
Creation of the final version of the publication on dreams: On August 16, the Aigine CRC team together with project expert Shaakan Toktogul, an independent journalist and researcher of Kyrgyz genealogy, held final discussions to approve the visual concept and content of the publication on traditional Kyrgyz dream interpretation. The interpretations of dream plots were collected and agreed upon by a group of traditional knowledge experts.
