The manual has been tested during the summer labor camp that gathered together multi-ethnic youth from all over Kyrgyzstan. The summer camp was conducted within a framework of the project called \u201cTransmitting peace-keeping traditions to the youth\u201d and was supported by the US Embassy in Bishkek. &nbsp; The manual is written in Kyrgyz and Russian languages and consists of the following chapters:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Contemporary methods of conflict prevention and resolution<\/li>\n<li>Traditional forms of self-organization\u2019s role in promotion of peaceful coexistence<\/li>\n<li>Institution of elders (aksakals) in conflict resolution<\/li>\n<li>The role of women in conflict prevention and resolution in traditional societies<\/li>\n<li>Match-making as a mechanism for reconciliation<\/li>\n<li>Promotion of peace by arts and artists in traditional societies<\/li>\n<li>Mechanisms for conflict resolution in Islam<\/li>\n<li>The role of sacred sites in peace-keeping<\/li>\n<li>The concept of collective responsibility<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This manual outlines some traditional methods of conflict prevention and resolution, which have been in use in traditional communities in Central Asia.
