{"id":189,"date":"2014-03-09T17:23:19","date_gmt":"2014-03-09T17:23:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/old.aigine.kg\/meeting-of-traditional-practitioners-of-kyrgyzstan-and-indigenous-peoples-of-altai\/"},"modified":"2019-12-26T13:34:51","modified_gmt":"2019-12-26T13:34:51","slug":"meeting-of-traditional-practitioners-of-kyrgyzstan-and-indigenous-peoples-of-altai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/aigine.kg\/?p=189&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Meeting of traditional practitioners of Kyrgyzstan and indigenous peoples of Altai"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"padding-top: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; line-height: 20px; text-align: justify;\">Date: September 8 2011<br \/>Venue:&nbsp; Aigine CRC<br \/>Working language: Kyrgyz, Russian<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; line-height: 20px; text-align: justify;\">A meeting of traditional practitioners from Altai, Khakassia and Kyrgyzstan took place in the office of the Aigine CRC on September 8 2011. &nbsp;The main purpose of the meeting was to establish and strengthen ties between traditional practitioners of Kyrgyzstan and indigenous peoples of Russia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; line-height: 20px; text-align: justify;\">The meeting was attended by Bolot Bairyshev, performer of traditional throat singing&nbsp;<em>kai&nbsp;<\/em>from mountainous Altai and Distinguished Artist of Russia, as well as Altai, Yefrosinya Sagalakova, hereditary Khakass shaman and chairwoman of&nbsp;<em>Khan Tigir&nbsp;<\/em>people\u2019s organization, Nurak Abdrakhmanov, people\u2019s artist of Kyrgyzstan, narrators of&nbsp;<em>Manas&nbsp;<\/em>epic Ryspai Isakov, Zamir Bayaliev, representatives of several different NGO\u2019s, university teachers and staff members of the Aigine CRC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; line-height: 20px; text-align: justify;\">During the meeting, Yefrosinya Sagalakova shared her experience of how she organized an institute on revival of Khakass people\u2019s traditions and customs. Currently, she is continuing the work of the institution as a chairwoman of&nbsp;<em>Khan Tigir\u2019s&nbsp;<\/em>district office, Khakass people\u2019s organization of traditional religion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; line-height: 20px; text-align: justify;\">Yefrosinya Efimovna, dressed as a traditional Khakass shaman, conducted a fire ritual at the Aigine CRC\u2019s office. Those interested participants of the meeting were invited to take part in the ritual. Participants had a chance to observe all stages of the ritual, i.e. putting on shaman\u2019s garment, preparation of &nbsp;ritual \u201cfood\u201d for the fire, the process of lighting and \u201cnourishing\u201d the fire and purification ceremony of those participating in the ritual.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; line-height: 20px; text-align: justify;\">Bolot Bairyshev talked about the situation of Altai&nbsp;<em>kais<\/em>&nbsp;(throat singers) and the growth of interest in the throat singing among young people. Participants much enjoyed Bolot\u2019s performance of several epics to the accompaniment of&nbsp;<em>topshur,<\/em>&nbsp;national instrument of Altai people and&nbsp;<em>ooz komuz<\/em>, jew\u2019s harp. Bolot expressed his happiness of having a chance to meet Nurak Abdrakhmanov once again after 10 years. In 2001, Bolot Bairyshev and Nurak Abdrakhmanov participated together and were awarded with a special prize at the International Music Festival&nbsp;<em>Voice of Asia<\/em>&nbsp;conducted in the framework of the UNESCO\u2019s project For the Preservation and Promotion of Ethnic Culture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; line-height: 20px; text-align: justify;\">Kyrgyz folk&nbsp;melody&nbsp;<em>ak tamak \u2013 kok tamak<\/em>, famous songs of&nbsp;<em>Toktogul<\/em>&nbsp;were performed by Nurak Abdrakhmanov, as well as his own melody&nbsp;<em>Zhibek zhol&nbsp;<\/em>(The Silk Road).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; line-height: 20px; text-align: justify;\">The meeting lasted for several hours at the end of which, traditional practitioners expressed their gratitude to the Aigine CRC for conducting the meeting and bringing together people from different parts of the world, beliefs and experience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-top: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; line-height: 20px; text-align: justify;\"><em>Please follow this<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/media\/set\/?set=a.219982848056549.55571.116982595023242&amp;type=1\">link&nbsp;<\/a><\/span>to view some snapshots from the meeting.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Date: September 8 2011Venue:&nbsp; Aigine CRCWorking language: Kyrgyz, Russian A meeting of traditional practitioners from Altai, Khakassia and Kyrgyzstan took place in the office of the Aigine CRC on September 8 2011. &nbsp;The main purpose of the meeting was to establish and strengthen ties between traditional practitioners of Kyrgyzstan and indigenous peoples of Russia.
