SIXTH PUBLICATION."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">From May 31 to June 1, 2019, the international symposium \u201cThe 1916 Uprising in Central Asia: academic integration, new approaches and knowledge\u201d \u00a0took place in Karakol.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Panel 1: Historiography and sources for study of the uprising<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Gulbakhram Molotova, Elvira Molotova: Archival materials of the natives in Semirechye region about the uprising. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Abstract: The mobilization of men from Central Asia and Kazakhstan to work in the rear under the decree of Tsar Nikolay II of June 25, 1916 contributed to the revolt of the people against the injustices committed against them. The purpose of this report is the study of archival documents stored in the Central State Archive of the city of Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The speakers are trying to find out the reasons that led to the uprising of the population of the Semirechye region, in particular, Dzharkent district and the Naryn-Charyn district. According to the information contained in the archival materials, the call of natives to supporting roles for the Russian Imperial army was one of the reasons for the 1916 uprising. The \u201cnative\u201d population, was not prepared for service in the army, but was called to participate in the defense of the State by their labor, i.e. doing support work at the rear of the army. The discontent of the population of Dzharkent district led to the flight to the mountains and the borders of China, in connection with which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Empire took measures to expel by force the fleeing natives and foreigners (Taranchi, Dungan, Kyrgyz) to Russian territory. For punitive actions according to the decree, horses and saddles were requisitioned by the Russian government, only from \u201cnative\u201d population for the convoys of the punitive detachments and in general for the troops. Also, cattle from the \u201cnatives\u201d who were leaving the Chinese borders were beaten off and measures to protect the Russian settlements were taken. Taking advantage of this situation, Chinese troops were sent to the borders with Russia.
