Project Monitoring Meetings: This week, Aigine Cultural Research Center continued its series of project monitoring meetings with participants of successfully completed initiatives. Representatives shared project outcomes, reflected on lessons learned, and discussed how they plan to further develop their ideas. The meetings once again highlighted the importance of keeping traditional knowledge relevant in today’s rapidly changing world.

Learning and Looking Ahead: Discussions focused on the long-term impact of the projects on local communities, opportunities for new partnerships, and ways to sustain and expand the initiatives. Participants agreed that traditions remain alive when they preserve their core values while adapting to the realities of the present.

Meeting in Osh: Toward the end of the week, the Aigine team arrived in Osh and met with the Phoenix team from the Kyrgyz-Uzbek University, participants of our Hackathon. The young innovators presented the current stage of their ambitious project to create a virtual 3D museum of Kyrgyzstan’s petroglyphs and sacred cultural sites.

Field Trip to Murdash: Following the meeting, the team travelled to Murdash village. Tomorrow they will undertake another expedition to the Murdash-Bashy petroglyphs to reassess the vulnerability of this remarkable cultural landscape and document the impact of ongoing coal mining activities on the site.
