🌌 This week, we completed work on a unique calendar that brings together traditional Kyrgyz perceptions of celestial bodies and stars. The project became truly inspiring thanks to the efforts of a group of young female artists led by Asel Kitayeva. The artists created visual representations of the planets in the Solar System, drawing on legends and stories collected by astronomer and lecturer Abakir Kalybekov from Kyrgyz National University. The calendar is both visually stunning and informative, aiming to introduce youth and other enthusiasts to the rich heritage of Kyrgyz culture connected to the cosmos. It not only gives us a reason to gaze at the stars but also to learn how our ancestors perceived and explained the world of stars and planets.

📰 The Aigine CRC research team successfully finalized a publication dedicated to traditional Central Asian martial arts as an essential part of intangible cultural heritage. This study explored the knowledge and practices of competitions such as Kökbörü, Alysh, and Oodarysh, which have remained integral to Kyrgyz culture for centuries. Special attention was paid to consultations with experts to gain a deep understanding of the traditional aspects of these games. The publication was prepared in collaboration with the International Centre of Martial Arts for Youth Development and Engagement under UNESCO (ICM), based in South Korea.

🛫 The Aigine CRC team, together with long-term partners and experts, embarked on an exciting journey to sunny and warm Paraguay. The purpose of the trip is to participate in the NGO Forum held as part of the 19th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Currently, representatives of our organization are part of the Executive Committee of the Forum and the Evaluation Body of the Committee. During this period, our team will also conduct familiarization visits to the petroglyph complexes of Paraguay to better understand their unique features.
