On 22-24 October 2019, Aigine CRC organized and hosted a workshop with the international expert on ICH and inventory making, Mr. Guara Mancacaritadipura from Indonesia. The main goal of the workshop was to discuss, elaborate and analyze the first draft of the National Inventory of ICH practices related to Sacred Sites in Kyrgyzstan and the National Manual for Safeguarding Scared Sites and Ritual Practices.
The first draft of the National Inventory and the Manual was developed based on the nationwide inventory of sacred sites and ritual practices in Kyrgyzstan and on-site seminars with the concerned community members in all 7 provinces of the country. The first drafts of both documents were made with proactive participation and involvement of community members, guardians, practitioners and local ICH experts. In the course of the workshop, Mr. Mancacaritadipura reviewed all the prepared documents and provided his valuable feedback and recommendations. He was also able to learn more about the project process and progress from the members of the regional working groups and practitioners during his pilgrimage visit to a complex of sacred sites in Ysyk-Ata and performance of rituals. In the meantime, Aigine CRC’s team started working on the second draft of the Inventory and Manual based on Mr. Mancacaritadipura’s recommendations and feedback.
