📚 Work Meetings: This week, the team of  Aigine CRC held a series of meetings with bearers of traditional Kyrgyz culture. The purpose of the meetings was to discuss how traditional culture, including crafts and akynship (traditional storytelling through music), can contribute to addressing contemporary social issues. Within these work meetings, the Aygine team and experts also reviewed collaboration requests and proposals. The evaluation of proposals took into account their alignment with Aygine’s mission and their ability to address modern problems in ways understandable to broader audiences.

📻 As part of the radio series “Asyl zhan,” organized by Aigine CRC in collaboration with Community Media, broadcasts covered topics such as “Observation and analysis of the relationship between men and women in contemporary society,” with guest Aikokul Arzieva, a doctor of anthropological sciences. Another topic was “Domestic violence: how to break free,” featuring journalist Nuriza Chyntemirova.

🎶 Learning Process: The training of young musicians in the project “Infusing Könur Yn into the sound of the Kyrgyz orchestra” continues. Under the guidance of musician and project mentor Rysbek Junushov, young musicians are being trained in playing reconstructed komuzes. The final goal is to integrate the group of musicians trained in playing reconstructed komuz and kyl kyyak into the orchestra of the B. Beishenaliev University of Culture and Arts and to perform a concert.

🏔️ Photo Series “Sacred Geography of Kyrgyzstan: Heritage through Generations”: Aigine CRC completed work in the archives and is launching a series of presentations of archival photographs of sacred places in Kyrgyzstan. This series covers the time span from the late 19th century to the end of the 20th century. The goal of this display is to remind people of the cultural value of the sacred geography of the country and its holy places, many of which have a history spanning at least a hundred years. This history reflects the mutual support between nature and humans, as depicted in the photographs. Visual material has been selected from the archive of the Central State Archive of the Kyrgyz Republic.

🎬 “The Weak Offends, the Strong Defends”: The shooting of the video titled “Alsys kordoyt, kuchtuu korgoyt” (the weak offends, the strong defends) concluded this week. The project’s working group has started the video editing process. Traditional horse game players of kok-boru, popular in both the capital and regions of the country, as well as professional actors and stuntmen, were involved in the filming. The production process of creating the video is led by the project coordinator Meerim Aitkeeva.
