The main focus of the meeting was to discuss the second draft of the working document with questionnaire prepared by representatives from Western European and North American states and Latin American and Caribbean states. Each point of the document was thoroughly discussed, especially the nature of conflict of interest. On May 6, reflections and exchange of views of international experts began on the mechanisms for introducing cultural elements into the UNESCO lists under the 2003 Convention. This meeting was convened at the request of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and is generously supported by the Government of Japan. Field trips to study the petroglyphs of Issyk-Kul
From April 29, 2021, the Aigine CRC team, together with traditional practitioners and the country’s archaeologist, resumed field research to study the petroglyphs of the Issyk-Kul region. Field trips take place in Ak-Bulun village of Ak-Suu region, in Ala-Bashy village of Ton region and in Ornok village of Issyk-Kul region. The search and finding of “Kyrgyz” petroglyphs, which are distinguished by a special form and lines of transmission of drawings, were remarkable. Elmirbek Imanaliev website presentation
Today on April 23, 2021 at the Kyrgyz State University of Arts named after B. Beishenalieva hosted a presentation of a website dedicated to the outstanding akyn Elmirbek Imanaliev, who passed away in April 2020. The site was prepared by Gulzhan Kudabay-Gallagher, who spoke about the tasks and structure of the site. Aigine presented two video dedicated to Elmirbek Imanaliev, which are presented on the website.
