Sama Dance in Karakol: Preservation of Identity through Culture
Within the framework of the project “Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) and Transformation of Cultural Codes”, Aigine CRC supported the initiative of Uyghur activists living in the city of Karakol to document elements of their cultural heritage. Working meetings
On August 21-25, representatives of the Aigine CRC held a series of meetings in Bishkek, Karakol and Ak Suu district center in order to study ways and possibilities of creating a protected area around Ak Bulun petroglyphs in Ak Suu district, Issyk-Kul province. On August 10, the Aigine CRC took part at the workshop within the framework of the project “Sustainable Research Data Collection for ICH Safeguarding in the Asia-Pacific Region”. The participants of the workshop were welcomed by the Director-General of IRCI Mr. Wataru Iwamoto.
